On Limits

Kids stretch limits

Parents set limits

Kids test limits

Parents create limits

parentStrategy tip:

Children and parents view limits from opposing perspectives, yet, both children and parents NEED limits. We teach our children that the sky is the limit so they can discover their strengths and challenge their weaknesses. However, we need limit setting to keep our children grounded in the understanding that their choices have positive as well as negative consequences and that we set the “bar” for what is acceptable and unacceptable.
